Hi Nathan, thanks for contributing so much to this thread. Would you happen to have a guide for your MDT process with this toughpad? We just got one of these in and it would be great if we didn't have to reinvent the wheel. We're planning a bigger order of around 35 of these later in the year. It looks like you've worked really hard on this, so thank you in advance for anything you can offer the community!

Is anyone having issues with the Toughpad just turning off while docked in the patrol car? If someone has a fix please email me at:
Re: How to image Panasonic FZG1 Toughpad?
For the following scenario panasonic fz-g1 tablet with vebg11 dock, and downgrading to win7x64
I downloaded the all in one drivers pack.
http://www.panasonic.com/business/toughbook/computer-support-search-downloads.asp
and gtm139le_eng.exe for the GPS from panasonic.
uploaded to sccm2012, drivers.
then downloaded
CradleLanDriver_v7008_G1A_W764_ss13094.exe [4.79 mb]
http://www.panasonic.com/business/toughbook/computer-support-search-downloads.asp
extracted using win rar or equiv
and all USB drivers including USB3
http://www.panasonic.com/business/toughbook/computer-support-search-downloads.asp
then added the cradle and usb drivers to the drivers list and to the boot image in sccm2012.
and turn your tablet on and go into the bios. disable UEFI boot. save and reboot
plug a usb keyboard inot the tablets usb port, press f12 and you should be good to...

Thank you both! I was able to get it working with the USB boot and on the dock. I haven't tried the PXE boot. I got everything working with MDT with the latest Win 8.1 x64 drivers. I also tried SmartDeploy to evaluate the convenience factor vs time spent in MDT, but found they do not have the latest drivers available in their platform pack for this model. They have the pack for Win 8, but not Win 8.1 and certain drivers fail. Must have to get a custom one made if the one in their library isn't the latest and greatest, or make one yourself. Maybe I overlooked something though.

We just released a version of SmartDeploy that supports Windows 8.1 so there aren't many Platform Packs that contain drivers for that OS. Our patented methodology for boot time driver injection is OS specific, so by design, the Windows 8 drivers won't get applied on an 8.1 install. In that scenario you'd just get whatever drivers are inbox with that version of Windows.
You are correct though. Presales, you can choose from the existing library of Platform Packs. Post sales, these are things that can be created per support request.
That's cool that you got MDT to work for you, nice work! I'd...

I was able to image the FZ-G1 Windows 7 Embedded Standardby using a clonezilla USB bootable drive. I keep multiple images on the drive and use this for a number of machines. No dock was used.
Sorry if this was a dead thread.
This requires a USB hub, a keyboard, and USB drive.
I have UEFI BIOS turned off and the USB set to 2.0 instead of 3.0. I haven't tested if having these changed other ways cause problems. Once i receive more tablets for our clients i'll be testing clonezilla against those tablets with the default BIOS settings and tweaking it until works so ican build a how to for my coworkers.
My setup is i've used YUMI version1.9.9.9 and clonezilla 2.2.0-31 (file name is clonezilla-live-2.2.0-31-amd64.iso)
Run YUMI and select system tools and choose clonezilla backup+clone. Select the clonezilla ISO as your 3rd option. I had my 128GB...

How do you get into the BIOS on the FZ-G1 ?
update - tap the top left hand corner of the screen when the
cursor arrow appears under the Panasonic logo just after powering up the device

DeanB,
Usually that means SCCM already knows about that device. Check to see if it is in your list of devices then remove it so it will become "unknown" again.

I was having issues where my USB hub would die after loading the Windows 7 install screen. I went into BIOS and changed the USB port from 3.0 to 2.0. This resolved it for me. I am now able to use my keyboard/mouse and USB ISO to re-image.

Just wanted to throw in my success story using SCCM 2012 R2 and PXE booting to image the ToughPad FZ-G1F (MK2) I would assume similar tactics could be used with MDT.
1. For the MK2 model I had to go into the BIOS and change the "A2" button to do F12 command
2. I also changed the boot order to PXE first as I couldn't get to a boot menu
3. I then used the driver bundles and followed the "Bundle Help Document" located here: http://supportishere.com/
I never had an issue with getting the ToughPad to start imaging, but after about 5 stabs at getting the drivers to install like a normal PC or Tablet, I gave up and used the provided method. With the FZ-G1F in particular, it would always come up missing drivers until I did. I was able to get the FZ-G1A to work without this method, but I'm so tired of dealing with Panasonic drivers that any future...

We have the exact same set up as you do. Your post have guided us in the right path. The only thing is that I can't find the "Bundle Help Document" on the link you mentioned above.(Says link no longer valid) Could you provide me a copy, if you happen to have one, of that document? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jesse

We tried a variety of techniques to image these devices and Veeam Endpoint protection ended up working the best for us.

Not sure if anyone has tried this or not but with MDT 2012 if you use the new windows PE image which is basically a windows 8 boot image with Windows 7 there is something in it that will allow you to use a keyboard and mouse to deploy using MDT while the toughpad is sitting in the docking cradle.

I can conform that we did get imaging working with the help of Panasonic. We were unable to get "boot to network" working, we must boot to USB KEY. Currently we are imaging them with out standard Windows 7 image, I am going to make a VM in VMware Workstation to get it.
We are using a driver package that injects the drivers after the image is installed.
I am attaching a screen of our MDT server.
Re: How to image Panasonic FZG1 Toughpad?
Using MDT 2012 and running into similar issues. Cannot get past the "Loading files" screen. Got stuck at that point and neither mouse or keyboard will respond. Tried reloading the device using just a regular Windows 8 boot disk, again froze at the Windows splash screen. My device is the FZ-G1 model.
